Cleaning and Adjustments for woodwinds
Level 1:
We clean the instrument as possible without removing the keys.
We use special cleaning pads to get under the keys to some extent and clean the bore with a sanitizing cleaner. All mouthpieces are thoroughly cleaned. We then regulate and straighten keys as well as remove minor dents where applicable. Flutes are surface buffed and look great.
Fit the sax neck and flute tenons for reasonable playability.
Pads and major cork replacements are additional.
(This will do fine for most fairly well maintained instruments.)
Level 2:
Disassemble instrument. Clean and oil rods and key shafts. Chemically clean body or oil soak if it’s wood. Polish body and keys, keeping away from the pads. Minor dents. Sax necks and flute tenons are refit to optimal contact playability. The fit takes the horn from playing well to great response! (Problems with the keys such as rusted and bent rods by estimate.) Corks, pads and major dents are additional.
