sam_for_websiteMy Teaching Background

I have been teaching percussion instruments for 20 years. I have taught many students from age 7 to 92! I believe you are never to old to learn and have fun doing it. I Have a Performance degree from Eastern Washington University (1992). I have taught at Lewis and Clark H. S. for 17 years as well as many other local High Schools. I have 2 locations in Spokane (southside and northside) both with full percussion set ups including, snare drums, drum sets, mallet keyboards and hand drums.

My Teaching Philosophy
I specialized in students that want to become well rounded percussionist. My approach to my students is a positive one and I encourage them to set high musical goals. I want them to look forward to thier lessons and achieve thier individual goals.

Tip for the week: Brass Players; If you are not comfortable cleaning the whole trumpet, snake out the leadpipe and main tuning slide with soap and water and a cleaning snake about once a week. Grease and re-insert the slide.  Drop a few drops of valve oil down the lead pipe.  Put your mouthpiece on and BLOW!  This will help keep "crud" from adhearing to the bore and causing expensive problems down the road.
